The two minor characters I chose to follow was Old Salamano and Celeste. What is interesting about Old Salamano is that he expresses his feelings through the dog. Beating the dog up or just yelling at him with this same routine for eight years. What is kind of odd is that Meursault doesn’t care or doesn’t’ even bother him one bit that Salamano beats his dog. Celeste reminds me of a grandfather with a big round belly. But, he owns a restaurant. I feel that Celeste cares for Meursault by asking him “things were ‘all right now.’” Even though I thought it was interesting why it didn’t end with a question mark. But Meursault avoids this question by saying yes quickly and then saying he was hungry and that was that.
