I notice a lot of boundaries between Hjalmer and Gregers. They both have fathers that were in business together with Hjalmer’s father Old Ekdal messed something up. With both their fathers having a falling out makes Hjalmer and Gregers have a strain on their relationship. Also without even having to read the book just looking at the character list you can see a boundary between all the servants and Old Werle. The servants serve Werle and are jealous of him a little but they also gossip about Werle behind his back about they never knew he had a son and a few other things. Werle just ignores the servant’s existence. On page 128 there is a physical boundary for Graaberg because he can’t get into the office but, the door being locked leads to people being upset and then calms down after a little bit.
